  • Keratella cochlearis forms:
    • K.c. cochlearis : Posterior polygons are open.
    • K.c. faluta : Posterior spine stout and wide at base.
    • K.c. hispida : Lorica covered with spinelets, indistinct polygonal facets.
    • K.c. robusta : Posterior polygons are closed.
    • K.c. tecta: Posterior spine absent. (could also be considered K. tecta)
