Unbranched attached trichomes ~60 μm
diameter. Cells many times longer than
wide. reticulate
chloroplasts. Most reproduction is
asexual by fragmentation;
occasionly by biflagellate
zoospores. Isomorphic life history wityh biflagellate gametes in at least two species.
