Name derivation:

 

Classification:

Chrysonephele  L.D.Pipes, P.A.Tyler & G.F.Leedale  1989;  monospecific currently.

Order Chromulinales;  Family Chromulinaceae or Family Ochramonadaceae (Kristiansen and Preisig 2001).

Morphology:

Gelatinous colonies with many cells, floating or attached to vegetation.  Mixotrophic.

Habitat:

A temporary bog in Tasmania
