Name derivation:

 

 

Classification:

Hegneria  A.J.E. Brumpt and G. Lavier  1924;  a single species has been described and is accepted taxonomically (Guiry and Guiry 2016).

 

Morphology:

Colorless unicells with6 o 7 emergent flagella.

Similar genera:

 

 

Habitat:

Endobionts in the rectum of tadpoles of Laptodactylus ocellatus in Brazil (Brumpt and Lavier 1924).
