Distinguishing Characteristics
  • Each caudal ramus with five setae
  • Third segment from the end on the right antenna has no appendage
  • Left fifth leg shorter than the right fifth leg and reaching beyond the first segment of the right exopod
  • Exopod 2 of left fifth leg about 1/3 the length of exopod 1, view at: 1000x
  • Endopod of the right fifth leg longer than the first exopod of the right fifth leg
  • Terminal claw of the right fifth leg not angled, but with a irregular bump in proximal third (1), view at: 1000x
  • Specimen approximately 1 mm long
Ecology
  • Found in lakes and ponds of the northeastern states.
