Morphology: |

Noncalcified bushy thallus, soft and gelatinous or firm and terete to flat. Several orders of dichotomous branches lacking constrictions at forks. Hetromorphic life cycle. Gametophytes are either monoecious or dioecious. (Ibid., Dawes and Mathieson 2008). |

Marine subtropical to tropical shallow habitats to 20 m depth. Reported from Florida, the Dry Tortugas, the Caribbean, Venezuela, eastern tropical Atlantic, and Indo-Pacific (Ibid.). |
