Distinguishing Characteristics |
- Postero-lateral facets on the dorsal surface of the lorica usually open.
- No pustules present on lorica surface.
- The anterior horizontal ridge of anteromedial facet is about the same length as the other ridges of the facet giving a distinctly hexagonal shape.

Ecology |
- Present in lakes from spring through fall.
|
Additional Notes |
- Can be confused with Keratella hiemalis.
- Posterior spines can vary greatly in length.
- If your specimen has a much reduced second posterior spine, please compare with Keratella valga.
