A single transparent green-colored gel-like sphere ~ 200 µm ; in diameter and attached within the dorsal flower pit was present on many thalli from Liz Pelonzi Pool, Lee, NH USA in August 2010, at the same time that other fronds were in flower. The sphere appeared to be on an attachment stalk hidden underneath the sphere. It is unclear if the sphere precedes, succeeds, or is independent of the flower (that was not present).
