Morphology: |
||||
Bambusina has small, rectangular cells that end with star-like points. Cells have a slight central channel and are in a singular row. Each cell has semicells, each with one chloroplast. The nucleus is located in the center between semicell chloroplasts. A pyrenoid (transparent structure) is visible between semicells. Cells viewed from the tip (apex) appear circular with two to three protrusions or points near the joining of semicells (isthmus). |
