Teilingia Bourrelly, 1964;  4 of 11 species descriptions are currently accepted taxonomically (Guiry and Guiry 2013).

Morphology:

Filamentous desmid.  Cells are deeply incut between hemicells.  Distinguishing feature is the presence of a pair of four ‘rods’ or ‘granules’ at each end of each cell, that probably help help the cells together in a filament (Gerrath 2003).
