Green cylindrical unicells, isthmus nearly as wide as cell diameter (only a slight constriction), with several whorls of short mamillate processes along lateral walls of both hemicells. One elongate chloroplast. |

Habitat:

Somewhat acidic and oligotrophic lakes. Most species are widespread, others reported only from North Australia and Malaysia (Guiry and Guiry 2013). |
