Diplosphaera M.W.Bialosuknia, 1909;  Currently both of 2 species descriptions are accepted taxonomically (Guiry and Guiry 2013).

 

Order Prasiolales;  Family Prasiolaceae

Morphology:

Spherical clusters of green cells.

Similar genera:

 

Habitat:

Terrestrial epibionts (not symbionts) on lichens (Voytsekhovich and Nadyeina  2011).
