Numerous branches, numerous small chloroplasts
that fill cells, end cells of branches taper. |

Similar genera: |

Pithophora has fewer branches, and Rhizoclonium has even
fewer branches. Several species once
consigned to Conferva are now
reassigned to Cladophora. |
||||
Habitat: |
||||
Epilithic, freshwater,
brackish and marine, bicarbonate buffered. |
||||
