Name derivation: |
||||
Named after Felix Eugene Fritsch 1879-1954), well-known British phycologist, author of encyclopedic two-volume text Structure & Reproduction of the Algae
(1935, reprinted several times). He
also collected algal sketches, continued after his death by J.W.G. Lund,
later published as The Fritsch
Collection of Illustrations of Freshwater Algae (Lund 1961) available in
microfiche transparencies.
