Morphology: |
||||
Attached green uniseriate branched
filaments, prostrate and erect, end cells narrowed to a multicellular
hair-like tip. One parietal
chloroplast and at least one pyrenoid per cell. Quadriflagellate zoospores are produced during asexual
reproduction. Anisogamous
gametes, bi- or quadriflagellate, are produed during sexual reproduction. Highly polymorphic likely arising from growth conditions Guiry and Guiry 2013).
