Classification:

Borodinellopsis R.F.Dykstra in B. C. Parker et R. M. Brown, Jr.  1971;  two described species are currently accepted (Guiry 2012).

Order Chlamydomonadales;  Family Chlorococcaceae

 

Morphology:

Sphaerical unicells with a peripheral clear ring.

Habitat:

Soil.  Type species was isolated from gulf shore of Texas.
