Morphology: |
||||
Barrel-shaped unicells, broadest at the apex, with six (rarely three) elongate
golden chloroplasts. Anterior
tentacles sometimes present. One
anterior flagellum 3-5 times the cell length. A contractile pseudopodium
0.5-6x cell length protrudes from the posterior end of the cell does not
attach to a substrate (Ibid.).
