Morphology: |

Brown trichomes
with numerous small discoid chloroplasts per cell. Reproductive structure is a
unilocular sporocarp
arranged in clusters. |

Similar genera: |
||||
Ectocarpus fasciculosis also has unilocular sporocarps
but not in clusters, as well as a single irregular ribbon-shaped chloroplast
per cell.
