Morphology:

Branched filaments of yellow-green cylindrical cells with
one or more chloroplasts. Zoospores
are produced with heterokont flagella,
that become sessile and produce new branched filaments.

Habitat:

Epiphytic on filamentous alge in freshwater
pools and small lakes. Widely
distributed.
