Bonnemaisonia (Rhodophyceae)

Bonnemaisonia hamifera from coast of New Hampshire USA, gametophyte stage "Triailiella intricata", often not producing the sporophyte stage when introduced, so reproducing fragmentation. Hook-shaped branch tips help anchor or engangle the organism, for example in Chaetomorpha filament masses.
