Lauderia Cleve  1873;  3 of 12 species descriptions are currently accepted taxonomically (Guiry and Guiry 2013).

Order Thalassiosirales;  Family Lauderiaceae

Morphology:

Short cylindrical cells joined to form straight filaments.Numerous discoid to lobed plastids.
