Licmophora C.Agardh 1827;  56 of 82 species descriptions are currently accepted taxonomically (Guiry and Guiry 2013).

Order Licmophorales, Family Licmophoraceae.

 

Morphology:

Marine colonial araphes attached to a substrate.  Form fan-shaped colonies attached valve to valve, with wedge-shaped girdles.

Marine substrates.
