Name derivation:

 

Classification:

Euglenamorpha  Wenrich  1924;  3 species have been described but may not be accepted taxonomically (Guiry and Guiry 2016).

The colorless form may be synonymous with Hegneria (Ibid.).

Morphology:

Flagellated unicells with euglenoid movement (‘metaboly’).  Cigar-shaped.  Both PS and non-PS cells are described.  Green cells have 3, while colorless cells have  4 – 6 emergent flagella.

Habitat:

Endozoic in the digestive tract of Rana tadpoles.
